Yes, at last I can reveal my newest screenprint, the Octopus Lady in Profile!
This is a limited edition run of 20 hand pulled screenprints that I will be debuting at table B-8 during the Stumptown Comics Fest this weekend in Portland, OR.
Size: 11.5″ x 15″
Paper: Arches 250gm Buff paper that was mold-made in France, it is 100% cotton, acid-free and buffered with a pronounced grain, deckled edges and a lush, buttery-creamy color.
Limited Edition of 20, all signed and numbered by hand along the bottom edge.
The burned screen on the left with the transparency on the right.
This was my very first run where every single print came out perfectly– I was amazed! Normally there’s little fuck ups along the way, but this time? Nope! No pieces of paper were wasted.
My inspiration for this piece came from the colors cream-yellow and raspberry– I was so excited to discover that I didn’t even have to mix my inks to get this color! It’s straight from the jar (Speedball, Acrylic, Process Magenta) and was absolutely perfect. And though it doesn’t really show in most of these photos, the paper itself is also a super lovely off-yellow/cream color. I love it when things come together exactly like I envisioned them in my head!
This is the original transparency (used to burn this image into the screen), on top of a finished print.
Lookit ‘em all! If you’d like to take one home with you, stop by table B-8 at the Stumptown Comics Fest April 28-29th. However many copies I have left over afterwards will then be released for sale in my store.
