Tiny Potted Clay Artichoke

By Erika Moen on August 8, 2012

The other day I woke up and felt absolutely compelled to play with my box of clay that’s been sitting neglected for, oh gosh, a couple years now? Dang!

Forgetting to actually measure it, I’m estimating it’s about 1.5″ x 1.5″. About as big around as a quarter, maybe.

Made out of Sculpey, of course! The last couple months I’ve been on such an artichoke kick. Perhaps it is because all the giant artichoke plants in my neighborhood have been blossoming like crazy? Matt and I even went out and bought our own starter that’s doing pretty well in our front “yard” (a teeny tiny patch of dirt next to the front door).

Expect to see some more artichoke-related art coming up soon!

Don’t Forget to come to my book reading at Floating World Comics for the No Straight Lines anthology release party in Portland this Thursday, August 9th, from 6-8pm! 400 NW Couch St., Portland, Oregon 97209
